Welcome to our Patterned world
Marta & Livonka is a studio dedicated to handcrafted surface patterns with a clear sense of order and intention.
We create hand-painted designs that combine richness and restraint — patterns built with structure, rhythm, and visual balance. Each work is expressive yet controlled, detailed yet composed.

The Artist Behind the Studio
Why Marta & Livonka
A Lasting Perspective

Artist Ira Mushkarova leads Marta & Livonka. Her visual language was shaped early by heritage, craft, and close observation.
Hand-embroidered linens made by her grandmother, stories of a strong great-grandmother, and a home where elegance was created through imagination — not abundance — formed a deep respect for detail, restraint, and beauty with purpose.
In a world overwhelmed by visual noise, Marta & Livonka exists to restore clarity, restraint, and aesthetic integrity to commercial surfaces. The studio works with a quiet, deliberate mindset — valuing taste over trends and intention over excess. Each design is created to feel considered, mature, and culturally grounded rather than merely decorative.
Nature remains a constant reference — flowers, leaves, and forms refined by time rather than trends.
This perspective defines the studio’s work today: creating designs that bring quiet beauty and lasting value to everyday objects.
Ira Mushkarova
"My love for patterns began at home. I remember the embroidered linens and pillows my grandma Marta made by hand, and the stories of my great-grandma Livonka, a woman I was told I resembled..

Today, Marta & Livonka is where these memories and dreams live on. My hand-painted patterns are made to bring beauty into everyday life — turning the ordinary into something unforgettable."
Our focus is on creating surface patterns that feel considered and timeless, designed to live on products and in spaces with ease, clarity, and long-term visual coherence.

Frequently asked questions
What am I licensing exactly?
You're licensing the right to use one of my seamless surface patterns on your product, packaging, or in a space — for the category and territory you need. The pattern design itself always remains my work.
What's the process once I decide to license a pattern?
We discuss the terms together, finalize and sign a licensing agreement, and once that's done, I send you the final files in the agreed format.
Is the license exclusive?
Most licenses are non-exclusive, meaning the same pattern may be licensed to other brands for different uses. If you need exclusivity, it can be arranged for a specific territory or product category — this is discussed individually
What file formats do you provide?
TIFF, PNG, or PSD, depending on what works best for your production process — this is agreed before delivery.
What if I run into issues using the files after purchase?
I provide technical support for as long as the license is active — if you have questions about the files or how to use them, I'm here to help.
What resolution and color mode are the files?
All files are supplied at high resolution, 300 DPI, in RGB. If you need CMYK, we discuss your printer's color profile first to ensure accurate conversion.
What patterns are available?
All patterns currently shown on the site are available for licensing — each one seamless and ready for production
Can I get exclusivity for just my region or industry?
Yes. Exclusivity can be limited to a territory (e.g. one country or region) or a specific product category, rather than being fully exclusive worldwide across all uses.
